Laser hair removal is a well-established method for treating unwanted or excessive hair. The laser applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many follicles simultaneously. The laser produces a ray of high intensity light which gives off heat energy, heating the pigment and destroying the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cell, preventing any further hair growth.

Hair has a three stage life cycle, starting with the growth stage, and only hairs that are in the growth stage will be destroyed by the laser. Therefore a course of 3-6 treatments, a month apart, is recommended in order to maximise results.

Results vary depending on the part of the body and the skin and hair colour being treated. Treatments are tailored to every individual.

The treatment can be used on the face and various parts of the body and is suitable for both men and women and Caucasian, Asian and Afro-Caribbean skin tones.
